The result of behind-the-scenes hard work was finally revealed last Saturday, when Cllr. Habib Tejan, Mayor of Medway, unveiled the Public Available Defibrillator in Walderslade Village.
It’s located on the wall of Permark and was provided by The Medway Rotary Club with strong support from Medway First Responders, Net board member Cllr. David Brake and Kent Fire and Rescue.
The defibrillator provides a clear message when used, allowing anybody the ability to make use of this emergency resource if confronted with a cardiac arrest.
The Mayor thanked all involved, confirming it’s better to have one and not need it than to not have one and need it.
The unveiling coincided with the opening of the 363 Coffee Lounge in Permark, which ensured a fine community environment for a large crowd attending the event.
With thanks to Net board member Geoff Waters for the photos and report.
